Happy Birthday Emma!

Emma is 6 years old today!!! I cant believe how quickly she is growing up! Yesterday we had a princess party with 6 of Emma's friends, and it was the party of the year!

We had a "Royal Dining Room" ...

...and a "pink carpet" entry...

...and a "Princess Closet" where all the girls got dressed up.

The princesses.

This is the castle cake I made.

The girls decorating paper crowns.

Emma wanted me to read a priness story, so I read "I'd Be Your Princess ~ a tale of Godly character." Such a wonderful book about how a princess of The King should act.

One of Emma's special gifts (from Nanny & Papa) ~ a "grown up" Bible as she calls it. She's been asking for one ever since she learned to read this past year.

It was a wonderful day! And as if that weren't enough, we had a special family party this morning for breakfast. Here is Emma with some of her gifts...her first Barbie!

And her tutu outfit that I gave you a sneak peak of here.

And a bow & arrow set from her Daddy!

Happy Birthday Emma! You bring so much laughter and joy into our lives. We thank God for you every day!

This is Emma getting her diligence award at graduation! (Scroll down and pause the music so you can hear it.)

It's Official...

Kindergarten graduation was last night ~ soooo cute! We made a big deal out of it and celebrated Emma's accomplishment and the fact that she is growing into a responsible young lady and she is learning to live out the biblical truths she is learning (at home and at school). We had a special steak dinner, Tim got Emma flowers and I made a card.

Emma got to lead the procession into the gym.

She led the pledge to the Christian flag. Her cousin, Jacob, (on the right) led the pledge of allegiance.

Each child had a Bible verse to say that started with a letter of the alphabet. Emma's was John 2:17, "Zeal for your house will consume me."

These six kids make up Emma's whole class.

Emma getting her diploma from Mrs. Moodie.

Each child got a character trait award. Emma's was diligence. (I'm having trouble with the video so I will try it in a separate post.) Mrs. Moodie is a truly Godly woman and she blessed each child with words of encouragement and affirmation. She said some really sweet things! It was a tear-jerker for me.

Mothers Day Weekend Re-cap

For Mothers Day I got a new outfit...

And of course I couldn't wait to wear it, so on Friday Tim and I went for a ride.

That Friday was also Bible character day at Emma's school, but we didn't find out till the night before. So at the last minute I made this outfit out of two old pillowcases. When I first pulled them out, Emma said, "That looks a little Grandma-ish." She was right but how does she know this at 5? However, once it was made and she put it on, she was so proud of her "Mary" outfit.

The coolest thing about this Mothers Day (aside from it being my first with Nate) is that Tim and Emma both made me cards. For Emma this was a normal thing. She whipped hers out in no time. For Tim this was a first. Emma had to show him what to do. He said it took about an hour. Aren't they great?! (Can you tell who made what?)

I get to be a mom because of these two special little people. I am so blessed!

Emma's Spring Track Meet

Emma had her first spring track meet last night! It was so fun watching her run...with a smile on her face the whole time. She loves to run!

The first race was the 50M.

The second race was the 400M ~ Emma's favorite. In her words, "I like the 400M best because I get to run longer, and I love to run!"

Emma with her friend Abby.

Emma's cheering section congratulating her on a job well done.

I'm not sure who put whom to sleep...Nate and/or Grandpa.

We love Landsharks because the kids learn great running skills and every kid wins! They record times but not "first, second, third..." Every kids gets a ribbon for finishing their race.
