Wake up and smell the...BLOG

You all know how my life these days has been, what shall we say, boring? sickly? nonexistent? OK ~ I still have a life but it consists of lots of time in my PJs ~ short trips between the bed and the couch ~ mad dashes to the fridge to ward of puking ~ games and more games with my four year old ~ way too much TV ~ and not enough friend time. I'm afraid to get more than about 15 steps from the bathrooom. It's hard to change any of that when my insides are constantly threatening a revolt. Such is life as a pregnant girl in my body.

I had a sweet friend bring dinner over to us this evening. I know Emma and Tim will cherish the meal because it's not the same leftovers we've been shuffling through for the past week; but I was even more excited to see the magazines she brought me. I've been desperate for literature this week. I've finally gotten to the point where I can concentrate long enough to read more than the ingredients on my Maalox bottle, so I've been reading, on average, one to two books a day!

One of the magazines I received had an article about mommy bloggers. It was interesting and it reminded me of why I started blogging in the first place. What initially was a way to stay connected with friends evolved over time to a showcase for my handmade cards. And since I am not up for cardmaking at the moment, my blog suffers with long periods of postlessness. I realized I could get back to my roots. Blog for blogging sake. Write what I'm thinking. Post about the not-so-funny days I'm surrounded with. Even if no one reads it, at least I'll be alive and well in blog-land.

And because I want to leave you with at least one worthy thing from this long rambling of a post, I offer you two new blog sites I discovered tonight:
Dalai Mama
Breed 'Em and Weep

Happy reading!

What a great idea Cristina! I hope it is okay if I continue to get updates on your blog as I consider you a great bloggin' friend. I really wish there was some way I could help you out but since I can't be physically there for you...I'll pray for you instead. Hugs and smiles to you! :o)

Awwww.... aren't friends the bestest? I am so happy you had that wonderful meal/entertainment brought to you.

I am so sorry your insides are still against you. Rest assured you are still being prayed for and thought of.

HUGS!
