Celebrating Purim!

This summer I had a group of 6 girlfriends join me at my house in studying the book of Esther (Beth Moore). It was SO wonderful! I highly recommend it!

Last night was our last night together...I think we were all a bit sad that it was over. In keeping with the theme of Esther, we celebrated Purim on our last night together. Purim is an annual celebration of the Jews to celebrate the day they rested from from their enemies (after God delivered them). "Purim for us can be the deliberate remembrance of all God has done to set us free."

One way they would celebrate was to give gifts of food to one another. So I asked everyone to bring a homemade goodie to be given away, and we exchanged "gifts" at the end of the night.

Some of the gifts offered were - and they were all homemade - granola, tomato soup, cookies, jelly and brownies.

We also celebrated with an ice cream bar - one of my families favorite treats!

This is during our study. I totally laughed when I saw this picture because of the "yeah right" look on my face. I have no idea what we were talking about.

This is my awesome group of Bible study girlfriends.

This group of friends had such great chemistry together. God taught each one of us so much. We were challenged and changed and able to be so transparent with one another. I am gonna miss what we shared this summer, but I look forward to what God has for our futures.

Cristina, oh how I miss being part of your Bible Studies. You are such a great leader! That was one of the most enriching times in my life to study the Word with you. I miss you so much! Call me soon - when it's convenient and we can get caught up on the busy summer!

Miss you! Love you!
